What is Shilajit?
Shilajit is a sticky, tar-like deposit of plant material that is created by an age-long process in the decomposition of plants. 'Mineral pitch' or 'Mummiyo', as Shilajit is also called, is mainly found in the north of India in the Himalayas and to a lesser quality in Chile and the Tibetan and Altai mountains. Mummiyo (Shilajit) has been used in Indian traditional medicine (Ayurveda) for 4000 years. The Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote more than 2000 years ago about the benefits of Shilajit and how it can be prepared with grape juice, honey and milk. Even Alexander the Great is said to have used Shilajit as a 'secret weapon' for increased stamina, concentration and energy.
Shilajit as a sports supplement
For muscle building, strength and the testosterone level, Shilajit has a very positive effect. The active ingredient that takes care of this is Fulvic acid. It is therefore important that the Shilajit contains high concentrations of Fulvic acid. Only Shilajit Resin from the Himalayas has such concentrations of Fulvic Acid.
Fulvic acid contains a high oxygen content, which helps prevent muscle soreness and increase endurance. In addition, other nutrients in the body are better absorbed and it reduces fatigue.
How to use
Shilajit can be placed under the tongue and dissolves well. Because many people find the taste of Shilajit unpleasant, you can dissolve it in tea with honey or simply in coffee. It will significantly improve the taste.
We recommend a daily amount of 250 to 500mg per day. This is about the size of a pea. Please only take 250mg at a time.
Shilajit is full of minerals (more than 84) and is rich in iron.
We recommend that you always contact your dietician or doctor before you start taking this supplement.
